First Evaluation of the PTN-104 Plethysmographic Sensor for Heart Rate Measurement

Abstract The purpose of this study was to examine the accuracy HR measurements by PTN-104 sensor in comparison fingertip pulse oximeter, which is a photoplethysmographic (PPG). Twelve healthy participants underwent same protocol during single visit. Measurements were taken after each participant completed an initial rest period 5 minutes and 1-minute exercising comprising 30 squats. Each subject had attached index finger oximeter opposite one. When examining data aggregate, there strong correlation between PPG for (r = 0.988) with mean bias −2.55 bpm (95 % LoA +5.0, −10.1). satisfied validity criteria monitors, however, showed lower at rest, surprising. Due noticed limitations, should be repeated larger group subjects compared gold standard method measuring HR, ECG.
